Action Planning is the process of taking a school safety or school culture problem and figuring out what you want to do to make the necessary climate changes.

Change Model:

  • Needs assessment-uncovering problems, issues/strengths
    • Readiness assessment
    • Schools can solve their own problems
  • Problem statement/Problem finding:
    • Identify issues of concern around school safety and climate in your school or district
    • To uncover challenges, they may not know they have.
  • Goal setting
  • Develop a plan
    • Plan components and strategies
    • Training
  • Monitoring
    • Implementation
