Action Plan
Action Planning translates your goals into ACTION. The process breaks down specific tasks incrementally and identifies parties responsible for completing the task, as well as a timeframe in which the task needs to be completed.
Your team already has created Action Plans for several tasks including collecting data for the needs assessment and identifying science-based interventions.
First, focus on a plan to secure stakeholder acceptance and enthusiasm for the intervention. What are the steps to getting the new program or activity up and running?
Here are some things to consider:
- Staff acceptance. How will you educate staff about this plan and intervention? How will you secure stakeholder support?
- Implementer selection. Will you pilot it with just one grade or roll it out for the whole school?
- Implementer training. Who will do the training? What resources are needed? Who will handle the logistics?
- Administrative support. Who will order materials and supplies? Who will keep records of use? What data will be collected? Who will collect that data?
These issues can be discussed with your team. Because your team represents many different areas and interests in your site, the chances for buy-in are increased. Pay attention to any concerns and address them before you start to introduce the intervention.
Given the needs of the intervention you have selected, you may need to add new members with expertise in the program to the Team.
Consider including short-term (one month), mid-term (one semester), and long-term (school year) goals and activities.
