Team Mission and Goals

A mission statement states the reason for the existence of the Safety Leadership Team. This part focuses on building a team structure for action planning and implementing a Comprehensive School Safety Plan.

Productive collaboration takes both purpose and skill to be effective; teams need to be clear about why they exist (mission) and can create and implement a plan for getting it done (action).

Successful teams require planning, good communication, and enough flexibility to allow easy transitions and changes to address new issues or to overcome barriers to moving forward.

Develop, guide, and monitor a Comprehensive School Safety Plan by:

  • Providing continuity to your school safety efforts.
  • Developing knowledge about school safety and climate that can guide decisions.
  • Providing opportunities for Student voice and teacher leadership.

The Safety Leadership TeamSLT – will…

  • Take responsibility for planning, implementing, and monitoring the Comprehensive School Safety Plan efforts.
  • Communicate with other faculty, students, parents, and the community about the efforts.
