Principals hold the key to shaping this safe school climate. However, all staff must support and participate in planning and implementing positive climate activities. This website provides principals with tools to inform, engage and activate staff in school safety and climate.
School safety involves more than intervention when a shooting or other crisis occurs. Feelings of safety are embedding in a positive, protective climate in which all members of the school community are treated with respect, have a voice in school activities, and feel that the rules and expectations are fair and followed consistently.
