Action

Now, the team is ready to move forward to implement the intervention you have planned. Use your Action Plan as a guide and review it frequently. Many teams organize their meetings by first reviewing their Action Plan.

You may want to implement the activity, program, and/or strategy with a small group of classrooms or grades to pilot-test the intervention before introducing it to the entire school. With a pilot, you can work out some of the logistic problems on a small scale. The downside to this approach may be that the group not implementing may feel disengaged.

The work of your team takes on a new phase of supporting the people who are implementing the plan and monitoring progress. It is critical that the team maintain a regular meeting schedule. During the first weeks of implementation, the team may need to meet more often to ensure that the plan gets off to a good start and the data collection process is in place.

After the initial phase, the team may decide to meet less frequently to review data and monitor progress.

WHAT’S NEXT: Develop a meeting schedule. Identify a process to alert the team if something goes off course between meetings.
